Gestational Diabetes: Your Glucose Readings and Pregnancy Story as Research Data

Every figure in this guide comes from a published source, linked where it appears and kept in CureCircle's evidence base with the source's own words. It is not medical advice. Read on 7 November 2026.

A diagnosis of gestational diabetes arrives in the middle of a pregnancy and brings a new daily routine: finger-prick readings before and after meals, changes to food, sometimes tablets or insulin, extra scans. Then, after the birth, it usually goes away, but leaves a higher chance of type 2 diabetes later. How the readings went, what helped, how the birth went and what happened in the years after is what research on gestational diabetes needs, and the mother is the one who holds it.

How many people it affects

A global analysis by the International Diabetes Federation found that the pooled global standardized prevalence of gestational diabetes was 14.0%. The IDF also reports that one in five live births (23 million) is affected by high blood glucose in pregnancy.

The records worth keeping

NICE's guideline on diabetes in pregnancy describes the tests that leave records:

If you do not have your results, ask your maternity unit or practice for a copy.

What sharing it is worth

CureCircle values every contribution with a public benchmark built from what health data has sold for. A complete gestational diabetes story with the records the guideline lists comes to about $62 per licence on the benchmark today, and about $165 per licence with 14 days of continuous glucose sensor data. Every line and its source is on the gestational diabetes page.

A licence is not a one-off sale: the same de-identified story can be licensed to several research teams, and you earn a share each time.

How to share it

You start by writing what you went through in your own words; a few quick questions follow, then an AI interviewer asks about the details only you know, and you rate every treatment you tried, from diet changes to metformin and insulin. You can add test results, scan reports and exported glucose readings as PDFs or photos, and the AI reads them into your own medical file. Before anything is shared, you read the de-identified summary and decide.

Start your story, or read what your health data is worth first.
